Mulch your garden beds during winter to conserve water

Published Date:10 Jul 2020

Winter is a great time to mulch all garden beds to reduce evaporation, conserve water and protect plants from moisture loss.

Mulch should be between 50mm and 75mm thick and consist of irregular shapes and particle sizes so they can knit together to prevent erosion and allow water to flow freely to the ground.

Aqwest recommends to mulch regularly to retain the water and use a wetting agent on water resistant soil and lawns to help water penetrate to the roots.
