The winners of Aqwest’s 2026 Photography Competition were announced at an awards ceremony in September. Students received prizes, along with cash awards for their schools, and the winning photographs feature in the 2027 Aqwest Calendar. Copies of the calendar are available from the Aqwest Water Services Centre at 2 Hayes Street.
The competition once again showcased the creativity and talent of local students, with entries highlighting the importance of water and the environment through a range of imaginative images.
Local photographers Sarah Henderson and Hayley Lewis from Henderson Photographics judged this year’s entries and commended students on their creativity, technical skill and thoughtful interpretation of the competition theme. Aqwest Board Director Wendy Giles also assisted with the judging process.
The competition continues to be a valued community education initiative, encouraging young people to learn about water conservation while expressing their ideas through photography.
Congratulations to everyone who participated this year. We look forward to welcoming another outstanding collection of entries in 2027.
