Our teams carry out planned and unplanned works daily to maintain our infrastructure.
As the majority of our infrastructure is underground, these works often require digging which can result in public areas such as roads and footpaths, and private property such as driveways and gardens being disturbed. We work together with affected property owners and other utilities to ensure impacted areas are restored to their original condition and quality as reasonably as possible.
Temporary Reinstatements
Sometimes it is not practical for Aqwest staff or contractors to restore areas immediately. Where this occurs, we will leave the site safe and functional temporarily, but it may take some time for us to arrange for the area to be restored to its original condition.
Verge Reinstatements
Sometimes we will need to dig up features such as driveways and artificial turf that run from your property to the verge, crossing Council land.
When this occurs, we are unable to replace the entire feature, only the section affected by the works. When restoring these areas we ensure:
We will work closely with the property owner to restore the impacted section.
We will restore the impacted section to match the remaining area to the best possible quality and standard.
Private Property Reinstatements
Driveways
We will work with property owners to replace the impacted section of driveway and match the concrete as best we can. Please be aware that even with a perfect match, concrete finishes can vary due to external factors such as drying conditions.
Lawn
We will replace any damaged lawn with the best possible match and arrange top dressing if required.
Artificial Turf
We will work with property owners to replace artificial turf as required. It can be difficult to find an exact match due to the variety of products available.
Irrigation
We will test and diagnose any irrigation issues before replacing any parts that may be damaged. Please note this may require access to your property and irrigation controller.
Landscaping
We will repair any damaged plants and landscaped areas. Where plants require replacement, we will replace with the closest match possible. Please be aware we may need to substitute mature plants for similar varieties due to availability.
