Concessions

If you hold a valid Pensioner Concession Card, State Concession Card or a WA Seniors Card (with or without a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card) you could be entitled to a rebate or concession on your bill.

Concession Eligibility​

To be eligible for a concession you also must be one of the following:
  •      The owner and occupier of your home

  •      A tenant or renter – only eligible for a concession if you hold a Pension or Senior Concession Card

  •      Live in a retirement or lifestyle village

You are not eligible for a concession if you already receive a concession on another property.

If you are updating or modifying an existing concession you are required to submit a new form. If your circumstances have changed and you wish to cancel a concession, please contact us.

Please note the following cards are not eligible for a concession:
  •      Health care cards

  •      National Seniors Card

  •      Department of Veterans Affairs Gold Card

The agency you make your application with may forward your details to the remaining agencies to process your concessions. Please follow up with other agencies to sure your concession is being processed.

Applying for a Concession

  • If consumption account is not in tenant's name:

    • Please complete PDF application form ensuring the Landlord section has been completed and submit with a copy of your concession card.

    • Please note this form needs to be completed by 31 July of each financial year for any eligible rebate to be processed.

  • If consumption account is in tenant's name:

Tenant Consumption Rebates

Aqwest Policy 1.16 Tenant Consumption Rebates states that appropriate rebates will be granted to eligible tenants from the date of their tenancy commencing, subject to the following:

  1. Special meter reading being taken at commencement and/or cessation of tenancy.

  2. The tenant is responsible for all or part of the first 350 kilolitres in respect to pensionrs and the first 150 kilolitres in respect to Seniors and Commonwealth Seniors Health cardholders.

  3. If the account is not in the tenant's name, then a signed declaration from the landlord certifying eligibility is to be received by Aqwest prior to 31 July in the current year.

  4. Eligibility is confirmed.
