National Water Week - Recap!

Aqwest Celebrated National Water Week 2025 with Community-Focused Events and Education

In celebration of National Water Week 2025, held from October 20–26, Aqwest had a series of initiatives aimed at raising awareness about water conservation and sustainability. This year’s theme, “Bring Water Into Focus,” turned the spotlight on the vital role water plays in everyday life and the importance of protecting this precious resource for future generations.

Community Engagement Highlights

  • School Outreach Programs: Aqwest partnered with local schools to deliver incursions on the water cycle and water conservation. Students participated in hands-on activities and learned how small changes at home can make a big impact.

  • Bunbury lit up blue: If you were out and about, you would’ve seen the City of Bunbury Landmarks lit up blue to commemorate National Water Week.

  • Water Night Challenge: Aqwest encouraged the community to join the national Water Night initiative on October 23, challenging households to go five hours without using taps, showers, or running water to reflect on daily water habits.

National Water Week was a chance for us to connect with our customers and reinforce the value of water in our lives. Through education and engagement, we’re building a more water-conscious future for Bunbury.
