Sporting Clubs hear update on Bunbury Water Recovery Scheme

Representatives from local sporting clubs and user groups gathered at Hay Park on 2 September 2026 to learn more about the Bunbury Water Recovery Scheme and upcoming project works.

The information session provided an opportunity for the project team to share updates, answer questions, and discuss what the works may mean for clubs and community groups that use the Hay Park precinct.

The Bunbury Water Recovery Scheme is a significant investment in the region's long-term water security. Once operational, the scheme will provide recycled water for the irrigation of public open spaces, reducing reliance on valuable groundwater resources and helping to secure Bunbury's water future.

Aqwest appreciated the attendance and engagement from local sporting clubs, with representatives taking the opportunity to learn more about the project and provide feedback.

Community engagement remains an important part of the project, and Aqwest is committed to ensuring clubs and user groups stay informed as the project progresses.

If your club has an upcoming committee meeting, event, carnival, registration day, or other community gathering, the project team would be pleased to attend and provide an update, answer questions, and hear feedback from members.

Aqwest thanks local sporting clubs and community groups for their ongoing support and collaboration as work continues on this important project for Bunbury's water future.
